Illing is a graduate of Mount Royal University's English and Philosophy programs, where he developed his fascination with children's literature, cartoons, semiotics, signs, and symbols.
He is a disciple of Wittgenstein, and published author of 'The Apartment', a collection of four short parables intended to be read as a whole.
